The Baby Food Conundrum

So from day 1, Andee has NOT liked baby food. I have tried everything from silly faces, making her laugh then shoving it in, airplane, bribing her with a sip of water then discreetly putting in a spoon after... I mean EVERYTHING. She is very independant and I have figured out that letting her feed herself is the key. She wants to hold the spoon and put it in her mouth, BY HERSELF. The problem - as you can see - MESSY!

*even with her feeding herself, she still prefers regular food to baby food. She now eats little bits of pasta, soft veggies, anything that we are eating that she won't choke on. Yesterday, (March 29) we discovered her favorite food - Mac n' Cheese. I think she ate more than Trey.

Cute Hat

Thank you Val for the adorable hats you made Andee!
I have received so many compliments for them! Love ya!

Trey's First Primary Talk

Trey gave his first Primary Talk in church on February 20, 2010. He was so excited to teach others that sins are like dirt. He spread peanut butter all over the picture of the boy. In fact, he kept spreading, and spreading, and spreading the peanut butter for I swear 5 whole minutes. Then he explained that when we sin, our spirits get dirty. We take showers to get the dirt off our bodies, but Jesus had to atone for us in order to get our spirits clean. Then he took a rag and wiped off the peanut butter. It was so cute and the kids LOVED it! I was so proud of my little guy! (too bad the microphone wasn't working so I had to help him repeat some things so the kids could hear) But, I had another PROUD MOM MOMENT! Good Job Trey!

Raspberry Beret

Okay, I know it's not a "raspberry" color, but I have a small obsession with Prince. I picked up this beret for $2.00 and thought Andee was so cute in it!

Big Milestones for Andee!

Andee has been pulling herself up to stand, cut 2 bottom teeth, clapping, waving and crawling on all fours for the past month. In fact, she did most of these things in all one week. I can't believe how quickly time flies and my baby girl is growing up FAST! It seems like yesterday that I was holding her in the hospital for the first time, staring at her big eyes.

Trey's Special Day

At Trey's Preschool, the kids get to decorate a board and bring in paper plates, napkins, etc... for their birthday. Since Trey's b-day is in the summer, Mrs. Pacheco picked a "special day" for Trey to celebrate his birthday. He was so excited to decorate his board in a "super hero" theme which we got the idea from his spiderman pajamas. We attached spidey for a 3D effect and then Trey had the idea of using his bendaroos as a web. He had a great time explaining to the class where all of his pictures were taken and the kids loved his flying superman pic! I am so lucky that Trey goes to Tanque Verde Lutheran Preschool. He has grown so much this year, socially and academically and it puts a smile on my face to see him excited to go to school everyday!

Ft. Lowell Soccer Shootout

Blue Storm Troopers with Coach Matt

Friend - Rodolpho

Trey & friends- Rodolpho & Roberto

When we signed Trey up for soccer, we had NO CLUE that his "Soccer Shootout" was such a big deal! They told us there would be a parade, and competitions... but WOW! There were teams from out of state that came for this event, news teams shooting, and Trey's team (the Blue Storm Troopers) got to lead the parade! It was a proud moment when I walked with Trey shouting, "Blue Storm Troopers" and watching Trey wave to the crowd. For a full week after, Trey kept asking to watch the news because he wanted to see himself in the parade.

Happy New Year!

On our way back from Utah, we stayed 4 days in Scottsdale, AZ. Brent's parents were so nice to give us a week at a timeshare there so we took advantage of the warm Arizona weather, after FREEZING in Utah! We even got to lay out by the pool a couple of times! :) How's that for December weather! We went to the Fashion Square Mall 3 times... because it was THAT good! We enjoyed spending time together as a family and bringing in the New Year. It was a nice, relaxing time together after the hustle and bustle of Christmas. It was hard to go back to reality.
