Happy Birthday & Mother's Day!

Mother's Day Flowers

Happy Birthday to me!

I get to celebrate Mother's Day and my B-day close together! Brent and Trey surprised me with gorgeous flowers, pajama pants and the new Prince CD! :) I'm a sucker for Prince! They made me feel like a great mom which I appreciate, especially as I have been so tired this last month of pregnancy! What sweet boys!

On my B-day just a few days later, Brent had decorations up (which my mom sent, thanks!) and the boys made me waffles! Brent is the best waffle-maker, by the way! Trey loved popping the poppers which spewed out confetti everywhere! That night the boys took me to La Encatada - which is a high-end shopping area and took me to a fancy restaurant, North, which I ordered the salmon- MMMM.... good! Brent and Trey got me $100 gift card to the mall to spend on "myself", he said, "not the baby." Which is so hard when there is so much cuter stuff for baby girls than me! It was a great b-day! Ooh- Brent even got me an icecream cake!

It's become tradition for my mom and I to plant pots for my birthday, I think we've done it over the last 4 years. It was great to have her in town and be able to keep the tradition alive for my birthday! She also bought me a way cute grey dress! Thanks mom, my pots are doing great! I'll have to take another picture since they have grown tremendously since those pics were taken. Especially the potato vines!

Ken and Linda bought me a sewing machine and the tools to go along with it. Thank you so much as I have been using it a ton! :)

Thanks to everyone who called or left messages on facebook! My 28th b-day was so great!

Pinnacle Peak

Grandma caught in jail!

Panning for Gold!

Telling our Fortune!

Another fun attraction that is right across the street from us is Pinnacle Peak! This reminded me of a Gardner Village but made to look like old Tombstone. They have shops, a train that goes around the park, restaurants and the best - a GUN/STUNT SHOW which Trey loved! It was full of gunfire, explosions, and people falling off of buildings - can't get any better for a little boy! Grandma enjoyed watching Trey pan for gold and going on the carousel with him!

Sabino Canyon

Catching Frogs - can you spot the frog? Look carefully, they are camouflaged!

Where did he go? Check my back! :)

This is the "frog rock" where they all like to hang out!

SANDMAN!
Trey's lizard, which turns his stomach blue when he is frightened!

On the way back down the canyon, we spotted this HUGE lizard!

We took my mom to Sabino Canyon which is literally about 20 minutes from us! We only went up the canyon for about a mile and then there is a drop down to a little river where Trey LOVED catching frogs, playing in the sand, and getting his feet wet! We followed the river for a ways which lead to a dam with a quaint waterfall and an area to swim in. Trey loved exploring and catching a lizard which he wouldn't let go of for quite a while! My mom enjoyed watching Trey be a little "boy", catching frogs, lizards, etc... It was fun to take her up there and it was beautiful as all the saguaro cacti and other plant life were blooming!

Grandma's Visit

We were so excited to have my mom come down to Tucson! Trey made this cute sign for my mom and hung it up in the front room. We went on several adventures with Grandma & she spoiled me by buying lots of baby stuff! Love ya Mom!

Tucson Fair

Trey had fun on the carousel, train and playing games to try and "win things"! He won a light-saver and stuffed animal and Daddy won at the basketball hoops and got Trey a Spiderman basketball! He was stoked!

Tombstone

Bird Cage Theatre - the famous or "infamous" saloon. We got to see authentic bullet holes, the "bedrooms" (or "give the guys a good time" rooms) which was totally legal back then... gross. They didn't call it the Wild Wild West for nothing! :)

My Little Cowboy

Show Daddy how it's done, Trey!

One of the last remaining Cowboys of Tombstone! :)

How freakin' cool to be in the spot where Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday stood! Linda (Brent's mom) always teased Trey that when he moved to Tucson he was giong to turn into a cowboy. Trey denied it, and denied it until we went to Tombstone and then he thought it was COOL to be a cowboy! We had to buy him the a cowboy hat & gun so he could play the part in Tombstone! The main road is still unpaved and everyone that works there still dresses the part. We got to check out a gun show at OK Corral to show how the gunfight went down with the Earps and the rebels. We'll never know who really started it, but it was neat to see the reinactment! Trey had fun trying to rope a calf and checking out all the "cowboy stuff"!
Thanks again for Ken and Linda for coming down to see us and spending some memorable moments with us! We Love You!
